Cryogenic Tanks: Designing a Mission-Critical Industrial System for the Molecules of Today and Tomorrow

From a distance, a cryogenic tank looks like a large storage tank. Up close, it’s something else entirely: a critical industrial system where a design flaw can have consequences over forty years of operation. At −162 °C for LNG and as low as −253 °C for liquid hydrogen, matter no longer behaves as it does at room temperature—and each molecule follows its own rules. A model broken in customs, an award-winning innovation: the story behind Entrepose Contracting’s holographic model

The client was expecting a physical scale model of its industrial facility to be delivered to its offices in time for Christmas. Two months before the deadline, the model was damaged during customs processing. Repairing it in time was no longer possible. It was from this constraint that one of Entrepose Contracting’s most notable innovations emerged, subsequently recognised with the Major Projects Division Innovation Award.
