The Nigeria LNG (NLNG) project on Bonny Island was West Africa’s first LNG export terminal. Initiated in 1989 and commissioned in 1999, it marked Nigeria’s entry into the global LNG market. The first two liquefaction trains required the construction of two 84,000 m³ storage tanks.
